Today's Red Carpet MVP: Natalie Portman

Today's Red Carpet MVP is Natalie Portman. The trailer for "Black Swan" has been released, showing Portman as a top ballet dancer. In the Darren Aronofsky film, Portman's character competes for a lead role against a younger dancer, played by Mila Kunis. The cast also includes Vincent Cassel, Barbara Hershey and Winona Ryder. The movie opens on December 1st.

Instead, the mother of 6 wore a flowing metallic dress by designer Amanda Wakely. InStyle.com reports that Jolie also wore nude patent leather peep-toe platforms, specially designer for her by Ferragamo.

Today's Red Carpet MVP is America Ferrera. Ferrera arrived at the 25th Imagen Awards on Sunday afternoon in a sea green ruffled dress with lipstick-red patent leather peep-toe pumps. (The shoes totally made the outfit!) The "Ugly Betty" star won the Imagen Award for best leading actress/television. The Imagen Awards honor positive portrayals of Latinos and Latino culture in entertainment. (The word "imagen" means "image" in Spanish.) This year's ceremony took place at the Beverly Hills Hilton on Sunday afternoon.

EW.com reports that Allison Janney has joined the cast of "The Help," which is a film adaptation of the best-selling novel by Kathryn Stockett. Janney will play Charlotte Phelan, the mother of the heroine Skeeter Phelan. "The Help" is being filmed this summer in Greenwood, Miss. and will open in theatres next year.

Kate Hudson is the new face of Almay. The actress signed a multi-year deal with Revlon, Almay's parent company, to serve as the line's Global Brand Ambassador. "Almay is known for its fresh, effortless approach to beauty," Kate said in an official press release. "At the end of the day we all want to have fun and feel beautiful -- that's what Almay is all about." In addition to appearing in print, online and TV ads, Kate will also represent the brand's ongoing philanthropic efforts. According to People.com, starting on May 13th, Kate will take part in the Almay Rainforest Concert in New York City. The concert benefits The Rainforest Foundation, founded by Sting and Trudie Styler, to support and protect the world's rainforests.
